I originally wrote Day Dreaming as a poem, which, if I do say so myself, was much better than this finished project. It was written in a sleepless haze of fear and frustration while at work, sitting behind a nondescript desk while talking to indifferent, and selfish, customers. At the time I was so tired that my mania for rest had become suicidal. That poem became a song while "trapped" at a friend's house for the weekend where I, with nothing else to do, decided to compose a new song. Here is the result. Enjoy!

I had another night like the other night
no sweet dreams nor sleeping tight in sight
every minute was a fight
with sounds all around and not a second of quiet
struggling to keep mind at rest
something told me it'll be alright
just relax and say fuck all to the rest
never mind that crack of light

I'm in a sleepless coma
uncomfortably sober
I think I'll toss back some jack
and a handful of soma
knock out for a moment
wake up unrested and angry
feelin' worser than ever
eyes red and drier
than and old piece of leather
Mind racing going crazy
I'm as light as a feather
coated in iron what I'm tryin'
to say is that there nothing left for me to remember

What time is it?
It's been 3 days since I've rest
I'm pretty sure nothing there's left
and my poor brain has abscessed
no lust for life
just an empty shell
who reeks of weed and sweaty must
I've stumbled into hell
I need Kevorkian
someone to lay me low
but no one would risk their life to put an end to me no
I would either
but if I had some ether
I can do myself by a method that's cleaner
than sharp blades or bullet shells
and brains on shiny tiles
Just let me think for a while
Let's not get carried away
